The Society is a members' organisation of Solicitors practicing in the County of Kent, devolving authority out of General Meeting (Annual and Extra-ordinary) to its officers and committees. Its officers are the President, the Vice President, the Secretary and the Treasurer, all of whom are elected at the Annual General Meeting. Its committees are the General Purposes Committee, which conducts the general management of the Society, and the Special Purposes Committee, which deals with any urgent or special business. The Special Purposes Committee is made up of the Officers, the immediate past President, and four members elected at the Annual General Meeting. The General Purposes Committee is made up of the members of the Special Purposes Committee, the Kent representative(s) on the Council of the Law Society, and up to twelve further members, elected at an Annual General Meeting to serve for a three year term. The General Purposes Committee may co-opt additional members to hold office until the next Annual General Meeting. Click here for the rules of the Society
