About us

Kent Law Society LogoThe Kent Law Society was established in 1818, before the Law Society of England and Wales. It has a long and proud history.

The Membership is now over 500 and comprises solicitors and trainees, practising and/or living in Kent.

The Society was formed to promote the best interests of its members in Kent.

It promotes the careers of new and trainee solicitors starting to practice in the County.

It provides continuing education courses to all solicitors, members of their staff and to any member of the public with locally eminent speakers, on relevant topics, at competitive prices.

It helps solicitors and trainees find work and Kent firms fill their vacancies.

It provides a lead to the local profession on the pressing legal issues of the day.

Above all, it provides a forum for solicitors to meet other solicitors to share expertise, give moral support and provide social interaction.

The Kent Law Society supports its members in many ways and aims to remain a valuable asset for its members and the people and businesses of Kent and others who may wish to make use of the extensive skills to be found amongst the solicitors in the County.

We seek to keep our members updated on relevant developments not only through this website but also with email notices and newsletters.
