The
sell-out event of the year. The Kent Law Society Annual Dinner and Awards will take place on Friday 10 May at the Mercure Great Danes Hotel, Hollingbourne, Maidstone. Tickets cost £80 each and include a welcome drink and a choice of starter and main meal at the dinner. Of course, one of the hightlights of the evening will be the announcement of the 2024 winners in the Kent Law Society Annual Awards. 
This year's event is being organised by incoming President Scott Neilson and will be hosted by Richard Atkinson. 
Scott's chosen charity of the year will be Demelza and he will be aiming to raise as many funds as possible for the charity at the dinner.

Developing Menopause Intelligence in the Workplace  Tuesday 25 January 2022 - 
12.30 pm - 1.30 pm - free lunchtime webinar provided by Devon & Somerset Law Society, open to KLS members. How to make menopause an open and inclusive subject, one that that no one is embarrassed or uncomfortable talking about, thereby creating a supportive environment in which employees feel supported. Informing and educating leaders and managers to understand what menopause is, how it can affect an employee, how they can talk about it and how an organisation can support those going through the menopause means that they can have the right conversations and provide the right support. Making menopause awareness a priority not only makes your organisation an inclusive and supportive place to work, but also improves your organisation's performance.  
 FEBRUARY Careers talks for law students - Tuesday 22nd February event, Grimmond Lecture Theatre 2, University of Kent, networking from 5.30 pm with law students and panel discussion from 6.00 pm with representatives of different specialisms within the profession. Main speakers are Richard Atkinson, Nick Fairweather, Louise Duckett and Alexandra Gordon, but any KLS members welcome to participate and share their experience with students.  Please register your interest with jon.pitt7@gmail.com

KLS will participate in school careers fairs on 8th March (Ashford), 9th March (Broadstairs) 28th March (Ramsgate) and 30th March (Canterbury and Dover).  We have also been asked to cover a university careers fair at CCCU, also on 9th March. Student and Junior Lawyer Mixer - virtual event - Thursday 10th March 6.30pm - 8.00 pm.  In speed-dating style, you will be placed in small groups and will get the chance to meet a number of legal professionals across different fields and ask them your questions!
